This app respects your privacy to the fullest extent. Learning features work, as a rule, entirely on your device, and the app does not collect your personal information. Data leaves your device only in the limited cases described below (store payments, and text-to-speech when you choose a network voice).
1. Information stored on your device
This app requires no account registration and does not collect personal information such as your name or email address. Learning progress, settings, favorites, study plans, in-app-purchase unlock flags, and similar data are stored only on your device.
2. Data sent outside the device
The app itself does not send learning data or personal information to external servers. It uses no analytics, no tracking ads, and no advertising SDKs.
Exception 1 (payments): Payment for in-app purchases and verification of purchase status are handled by the store platforms (App Store / Google Play). The app does not obtain or store payment information such as credit card numbers.
Exception 2 (text-to-speech): Speech is, as a rule, synthesized on the device (on iOS the default is on-device). However, only if you select a "network voice" (online high-quality voice), e.g. on Android, the text to be read aloud is sent to the OS speech-synthesis provider (such as Google) for synthesis. To use the app fully offline, select an on-device voice.
3. Recording (microphone)
Audio captured by the pronunciation-practice recording feature is used only for recording and playback on your device; it is not saved as a file and is never sent to external servers. You can change the microphone permission at any time in your device settings.
4. Permissions
Microphone: for recording pronunciation practice (used on-device only). Notifications: for showing study reminders. The OS asks for these permissions the first time you use each feature.
The app does not request camera, location, contacts, photos, calendar, or similar permissions.
Supplementary note for this page: the permissions declared by the Android version (by the app itself and by the plugins it uses) are as follows.
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
RECORD_AUDIO (microphone) | Pronunciation-practice recording. Recorded audio is used only for immediate on-device playback; it is not saved as a file and is not sent anywhere. Permission is requested the first time you use this feature |
MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS | Volume / audio-focus control for text-to-speech (TTS) |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS | Showing study-reminder notifications (explicit consent is required on Android 13+) |
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED / WAKE_LOCK | Declared by the notification plugin; used to re-register reminders after a device restart and to deliver notifications |
INTERNET | Required by the app runtime (Capacitor). Not used to transmit learning data |
com.android.vending.BILLING | For in-app purchases (one-time purchase), processed by Google Play |
The app requests no permissions for camera, location, contacts, storage writing, phone, or SMS. On iOS, the only permissions the OS will ask for are the microphone (pronunciation practice) and notifications (study reminders).
5. Payment information
Payments are processed by the App Store / Google Play. The app does not obtain or store payment information such as credit card numbers.
6. Backup and moving to another device
Using "Save / restore backup" in the settings screen, you can export and import your data as a JSON file.
On Android devices, Google Auto Backup is disabled by this app, so your learning data is not copied to the cloud. On iOS devices, if iCloud Backup is turned on, the system may copy the app's data as part of the device backup (this iOS behavior cannot be controlled by the app). To move data between devices, use the in-app backup / restore feature.
7. Deleting your data
Data on your device is completely deleted by uninstalling the app or by clearing its data from the device "Settings". In some cases you can also reset from within the app's settings. Because nothing is sent to external servers, no deletion request is necessary.
8. Children
This app is intended primarily for individual language learning and is not specifically designed for children. Users under 13 should use the app under the guidance of a parent or guardian. Since the app collects no personal information, no individual parental consent is required, but parents and guardians should appropriately supervise their children's overall device use.
9. Changes and contact
This policy may be revised in response to changes in law or in the app's features. Important changes will be announced via an app update or by posting on this page.

10. Third-party libraries and content (supplementary note for this page)
This app uses the following open-source libraries, among others:
- React (MIT License)
- Capacitor (MIT License)
- @capacitor-community/text-to-speech (MIT License)
- Tailwind CSS (MIT License)
The Japanese vocabulary, example sentences, conversation scenarios, grammar explanations, illustrations, UI design, and other content are original works created by the developer of this app. Read-aloud audio uses the OS-standard text-to-speech installed on your device. Full license notices for each library are available in the app under "Settings > Open-source licenses".
11. About the JLPT (supplementary note for this page)
The JLPT (Japanese-Language Proficiency Test) is administered by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (JEES). This app refers to the publicly available JLPT level classification (N5–N1), but it is not certified, sponsored, or endorsed by the test organizers or any other public institution. The level labels in this app are the app's own classification and do not guarantee any official certification or assessment.
